After NCAA Tourney Snub, Illinois State Head Coach Uses Twitter To Strengthen Schedule

Maybe it's me, but I feel like there was a record low when it comes to this year's NCAA Tournament snubs. For the most part, all the teams that deserved to be in ended up winning their conference tournament or earning an at large bid.

That said, the Illinois State Redbirds likely have the best resume to not make the 68-team field. Illinois State finished with a 27-6 record and an RPI of 33. Unfortunately, with the Missouri Valley Conference being extremely weak, the Redbirds strength of schedule ranked 125th.

Illinois State head coach Dad Muller feels like his team is worthy of being in the big dance this year, but he's doing everything he can to make sure they don't get left out next year. Muller went to Twitter basically begging teams from the top leagues in the country to schedule his team. Believe it or not, it actually paid off.

On Monday afternoon Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork responded to Muller's Tweet saying head basketball coach Andy Kennedy was interested in a non-conference match up.
