LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Chris Mack is out as coach of the Louisville Cardinals after less than four years of leading the basketball program.

Mack's departure, described as a separation agreement, comes in the middle of a bad season for UofL. The Cards are 11-9 and have lost five of their last six games.

Mack says he "harbors no bitterness," noting he has a "great family and a great life."

He ends his tenure at UofL with a 68-36 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2019.

Mack's departure is one of many in the Louisville athletics department in recent years. He was hired in 2018 to replace the ousted Rick Pitino.
