(Louisville, KY) - A former University of Louisville assistant basketball coach says he confronted head coach Chris Mack about potential rules violations before he was fired.

Dino Gaudio has pleaded guilty to trying to extort the university after his contract wasn't renewed in March.

Court documents filed this week show Gaudio says he talked to Mack about potential NCAA infractions last summer.

Kentucky head coach John Calipari is among those who wrote letters of support for Gaudio, who will be sentenced later this month in federal court.
