No Decision Yet On Potential Postponement Of Kentucky Derby

(Louisville, KY) - Plans for this year's Kentucky Derby continue to move forward.

Churchill Downs said Thursday it will make a decision later on whether to postpone the race over COVID-19 concerns.

As of now, the Churchill Downs officials say they're preparing for the race to be held on May 2nd. 

Saturday's Jeff Ruby Steaks at the company's recently acquired Turfway Park in Florence will be held without in-person spectators.

Keeneland in Lexington says when it opens for racing again in April, there will not be fans allowed in.

Derby Festival Postpones 6 Events Over Coronavirus Concerns

(Louisville, KY) - The Kentucky Derby Festival is making changes to its schedule due to coronavirus concerns. 

KDF officials announced Thursday they're postponing six events that were scheduled to be held prior to April 5th.

They include Saturday's spelling bee, Monday's Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation Student Art Contest, and Fillies Derby Ball on April 4th.
