Virginia Outlasts Texas Tech In OT To Win National Title

(Minneapolis, MN) - For the first time in school history, the Virginia Cavaliers are the NCAA men's basketball champions. 

Virginia outlasted Texas Tech 85-77 in overtime to win the title game in Minneapolis. 

DeAndre Hunter led the Cavaliers with 27 points and Kyle Guy poured in 24.

 

Virginia ended the game on an 13-4 run to pull out the win. 

Brandone Francis led the Red Raiders with 17 points off the bench. NBA prospect Jarrett Culver scored 15 points on 5-of-22 shooting in defeat. 

Texas Tech fell short of the first men's national title in school history.
